The service is very informal and you can use it as and when you feel you need it; you don’t need to be referred by anyone, just turn up when we are open. Our building is two semi- detached houses knocked through inside and has several different rooms/areas - including a conservatory, garden and TV room - as well as the two main lounge areas and separate rooms for one to one support. You can chat and socialise with other people, have some time with a support worker, have a one to one private session with a qualified counsellor, or just find yourself a quiet space where you can be around people if you don’t want to be alone.
There are two workers available, including at least one counsellor, to provide support as well as guidance on how you can get further help including accessing services such as advocacy to help with accessing services, housing problems, benefits claims, debt and financial advice, counselling, employment support and advice plus other social and leisure activities. We can also assist in getting further help from your GP, NHS mental health services, and Social Services; and if you decide that you need emergency help, we can arrange this too.
